If you’ve ever traveled the Great Ocean Road before, you would know three things about it: it’s epic seascape and bush views, it’s world renown beaches and surf culture, and the overwhelming sense of calm you feel when taking in the scenery. With a day away from the hospital, I took the opportunity to get out of the city, to go on a mini adventure.
My first stop was Torquay. Nestled away on the south coast of Victoria, thrives a small town. Torquay has many defining features, and has become a household name amongst those who appreciate surf culture. Torquay is home to the world famous Bells Beach, and houses many surf outlets, such as Rip Curl, Roxy, Billabong, and Quiksilver to name a few.
Just a hop-skip and jump over lies Jan Juc. Boasting amazing beaches and cliff views, these beaches are an extension to those in Torquay.
With views like this, who wouldn’t want to treat their eyes to this spectacular? So jump in your car, buy your plane tickets and plant your feet on the sand of the Great Ocean Road.
